Slow Day Links
blogI knew when I started writing this blog on a daily basis that there would be slow days and today is one of them. I did briefly try scheduling updates to appear in the future (as I do with my Foto blog), but I feel disconnected enough from my own life already without doing that. So anyway I thought I would link to a few things that may be of interest:
Avant-garde novelist and neoist, Stewart Home has started a daily blog. For those who have read his journalism and novels, the Mister Trippy blog is comparatively lightweight froth, but still well worth checking out.
This ‘breef rehearsall’ of qualities (2/3 of the way down the page) in Castiglione’s The Courtier is great, including tips for being a Courtier like:
- Not to use sluttish and Ruffianlike pranckes with anye man.
- Not to beecome a jester of scoffer to put anye man out of countenance.
For visual stimulation, I still turn every day to Ffffound, which never fails to send a shiver down the spine.
If, like me, you think that there are too many books and not enough time, this wiki has in-depth book outlines including this one on Dan Ariely’s Predictably Irrational.
Finally, I haven’t tried it out, but this suitmaker’s website is superbly done. I’d be interested to see the quality of the cut, if anyone fancies trying it out. Do you think I could get away with herringbone?
